Our History

David Torres began his cabinet maker carpentry career when he was very young.  Back then, David worked for the Cabinet local of NYC, where he learned the initial trade of carpentry; after completing his four years of apprenticeship, he was recognized as receiving the golden hammer, the highest recognition.  He continues learning construction and assisting in major commercial projects like the World Trade Center, the Apple store in NYC, and the recognized Radio City Hall, just a few significant projects.  David's work is impeccable, upstanding, reliable, and dedicated to providing the best and most affordable work to his customers.

In 2015, David opened his construction business, D & J Home Improvement and Repairs, in Somerset County.  Initially, while his upstanding work recognized David, he focused primarily on renovations of kitchens and bathrooms.  However, the business has expanded over the years to provide more services like custom home remodelations, painting, building, and even small commercial remodel projects.

David takes great pride in his work and dedication to providing our customers with honesty and expert advice on all their remodeling projects.  David cares about his clients and truly believes in transparency and providing affordable, reasonable prices for his customers.
